Four Patch I brings together two Bauhaus-inspired geometric motifs, repeated and reassembled into a lively field of color and pattern. Circles, elongated forms, and shifting color combinations create a sense of rhythm across the composition, while thousands of individually applied encaustic wax marks add texture and another layer of pattern to the surface.

Part of my ongoing exploration of how traditional patchwork structures can intersect with modernist design, Two Patch I plays with repetition and variation—using a limited vocabulary of shapes to create something far more complex.

Size: 20”x24”

Materials: Encaustic and Rice Paper on Wood Panel
